I-I-I-IKEA!

Michelle, this one's for you... apparantly yahoo is dumb and won't let me upload the photo today...

As you may know, my New Year's Resolution for 2008 is to sew more of my own clothes. As of today, I am up to 4 "real" dresses, 3 T-shirt dresses, and 1 shirt. Here's one from the IKEA collection- clothes to wear, to match your home.

I really enjoy working with fabric and figuring out patterns. Plus, it makes me feel connected to my great-grandma Eula, whom I never met. She was a master seamstress. I like to think that I may have inherited some of her talent. :)

Super Bowl in AZ

The Super Bowl is in AZ this year, and Mike and I were invited to go to an event to honor educators in AZ. We got to meet some NFL and ESPN celebrities, and my favorite was "Spike" the big walking football. Go Spike!

Fall in Belleville

There were some beautiful fall leaves in Belleville, as usual. Being in fall is such an overwhelming sensory experience! It's so deliciously strange to be completely surrounded by yellow or orange or red!

Penguins!

One of my very favorite things about St. Louis is the penguin house at the zoo with my mom and dad. You can actually go into the penguin habitat and be RIGHT NEXT to the penguins!!! It's an amazing experience. I highly recommend it!

Boyce Thompson Arboretum

One of the best parts of living in Arizona is the beautiful landscapes-- so different than the Midwest! Ellen and I spent a great day at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum in October. I love AZ! What a beautiful view! What a beautiful day!
